Is that 60” LCD flatscreen HDTV worth less to you because you live in an apartment?  Should you not be as concerned about protecting your precious family heirloom jewelry in your condo rental if you go away on vacation than if you lived in a house?

Of course you still need to secure those assets no matter where you live.  However, installing a traditional home security system may not be possible in an apartment for example due to wiring issues, installation of a panel, etc.

We’d like to tell you about a system we use here at One Source Security--Honeywell’s Lynx Wireless Security System.  It’s completely portable and noninvasive.  It is the perfect home security system for renters.

Since it’s completely wireless, it leaves no structural marks and you can take it with you when you move out.  You get a portable system that’ll stay with you for as many moves as you make and your landlords will be left with no holes or damage of any kind.

Typical home alarm systems have a security panel that is the brains of the system.  These are often found in the basement.  With Lynx, the portable keypad is the central unit, not a panel.  It even acts as the siren.  It can be situated on any wall you want.  Although, it is always recommended that you not have your keypad in direct sight of a window or door since a thief would then be able to see if the system was armed or not.

Other components of the system beyond the keypad include wireless motion detectors and wireless door contacts for instance, and our system comes with a free wireless remote.

Lynx allows for cellular communication with the central monitoring station, so phone lines are not even necessary.  This is beneficial because many renters nowadays are not obtaining “land lines” for telephone service—they are relying on their cell phones.

If you have a large apartment and you’re wondering how wide of an area Lynx will cover, it covers units of all sizes.

So don’t feel vulnerable to thieves, or that creepy guy down the hall in 301A, secure your rental unit with Lynx.

Thanks for spending some time with us.
